Josh and I were invited to do a presentation on GeoTrellis as part of webinar series being done by LocationTech, a new initiative of the Eclipse Foundation. LocationTech is an effort to support the use of open source geospatial technology in a business context with the following areas of initial focus:
- Storage and processing of massive data volume
- Model driven design
- Desktop, Web, and mobile mapping
- Real time analysis of business critical data
Our presentation outlines some of the reasoning behind our approach to distributed geoprocessing as well as some future direction for our research. Check it out and let us know how you’d like to use GeoTrellis.
