After the resounding success of Summer of Maps 2012, we’re making it an annual event! And the organization application process is now open.
Inspired by the Google Summer of Code, Summer of Maps is a program that offers fellowships to student GIS analysts to perform geospatial data analysis for non-profit organizations. We are going to match up a few non-profit organizations that have spatial analysis needs with talented students of GIS to implement projects over a three-month period during the summer of 2013.
Each student will receive a $5,000 stipend, generously sponsored by Esri, the Tri-College Consortium (Bryn Mawr College, Haverford College, and Swarthmore College), as well as Azavea.
Are you a non-profit organization with some great geographic data and analysis ideas? Are you a student looking for a challenging summer experience? For more information and the 2013 schedule, please visit: http://www.summerofmaps.com.
