The Azavea Summer of Maps program is a fellowship that matches students pursuing careers in geospatial data analysis with nonprofit organizations that have spatial analysis needs to complete projects alongside Azavea mentors.

Azavea Open Source Fellowship
The Azavea Open Source Fellowship program offers fellows the chance to work closely with experienced Azavea mentors to expand on software engineering and design skills while contributing to open source projects. Applicants can either choose a project from the Proposed Projects list or submit their own ideas.
Azavea is deeply committed to open source software and manage several large open source projects, including: GeoTrellis, DistrictBuilder, OpenTreeMap, Model My Watershed, OpenDataPhilly, Open Transit Indicators, and many others.
