Simon is a Software Engineer on the Civic Applications Team at Azavea.

Simon has had roles as both a Data Scientist and a Software Engineer in his time at Azavea. Currently, he builds geospatial web applications on the Civic Applications team but has worked on projects related to satellite imagery, machine learning, and data visualization.

Before Azavea, Simon worked in city government, film and television production, and as a real estate photographer. He has a degree in Political Science from Macalester College and City Planning from The University of Pennsylvania. 

In his free time, Simon can be found running along the Schuylkill River, hacking together a woodworking project, or on a strip of Philadelphia green space — tossing a tennis ball for his dog, and hoping he comes back with it.
