Justin is a Senior Software Engineer on the Civic Applications Team at Azavea.

Justin primarily works on JavaScript and C# .NET development on custom GIS web applications.  He graduated from Penn State with a BS in Computer Science and ight out of school Justin worked for 10 years at a small consulting company where he was the architect, lead developer and project manager of the company’s first commercial application which expanded the company’s customer base from a small circle in Pennsylvania to all of North America.

Outside the office you will usually find him attached to a laptop keeping up with software and design blogs, working on his own personal web projects and attending local developer meet-ups.  He is a member of the newly formed PhillyJS meetup and is working on a commercial personal publishing application in Ruby on Rails.

Away from the computer, he enjoys German board games, tinkering with analog electronics, and he’s been playing music since the age of ten, taking up the saxophone, guitar, bass, and drums.  Over the years his bands have independently produced and released 4 albums.  Justin lives with his wife, a rescued dog and 2 rescued cats.
