Meet The Team
We are dedicated to creating meaningful impact in the communities we serve. Our team is made up of talented individuals who work together to solve some of the most complex geospatial challenges of our generation. We also spend time volunteering, mentoring others in and outside the office, and hosting and participating in community and educational events.
Technology We Use
Azavea’s developers work closely with our User Experience (UX) Design team to build user-focused web and mobile applications in a range of languages and frameworks, including Javascript, Python, Scala, and R. We strive for elegant solutions to complex problems to bring about positive change.
Our Data Analytics team helps our clients tell compelling data-driven stories to advance their missions, with tools like CartoDB, Mapbox, and ArcGIS Online. They assist them to make informed decisions using statistics, map algebra, and open-source tools such as GeoDa, R, and QGIS.

Upcoming GeoPhilly Events
OpenDataPhilly.org was created in 2011 by Azavea in collaboration with the City of Philadelphia Office of Innovation & Technology, Tech Impact (formerly NPower PA), TechnicallyPhilly, WHYY, and the William Penn Foundation. The data portal aims to provide a hub for publishing and accessing open data created by the City government, NGOs, universities, and businesses in the region.
