Lewis is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the Geospatial Technology and Research Team at Azavea.
He applies machine learning to geospatial data and maintains the Raster Vision open source project. Previously, he was a full-stack web developer on the Civic Applications team.
Lewis graduated with a B.S. from the University of Delaware and an M.S. from the University of Texas at Austin, both in Computer Science. Before joining Azavea, he built software at Quantum Leap Innovations, and was enrolled in a Ph.D. program at the University of Texas at Austin. While there, he was a T.A. for the Machine Learning course and did research on building a “baby robot.”
Outside of work, Lewis enjoys riding his bike, reading the New Yorker, having picnics, and spending every vacation day possible traveling to other countries.
