Philipp Schmitt is a User Experience Designer at Azavea.

Prior to Azavea, Philipp was an Artist-Researcher in a Machine Learning Research Group at NYU. He has worked as a designer and creative technologist on various emerging technology projects for academic labs and corporate innovation teams, and his artistic work has been shown in museums around the world. Philipp has an MFA from The New School (Parsons) and got a BA in Interaction Design in his native Germany.

Beyond work, Philipp’s current interests include science and technology studies, as well as baking a perfect pizza with his Brooklyn rental apartment gas range.
