Aaron is a Software Engineer on the Raster Foundry Team at Azavea.

Aaron graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a Master in Urban Spatial Analytics degree and a Master in City and Regional Planning degree focusing on Smart Cities. Before joining Azavea, he interned at DataArts as a Research Fellow. He also did internships as a GIS Analyst at Baidu.com in the Map Division and at Land and Resources Bureau of Urumqi City in the Information Center when pursuing his B.S. in Geographic Information Science degree from Wuhan University in China. Aaron started at Azavea as a 2017 Open Source Fellow and now works full-time.

When not talking to rasters and vectors, Aaron can be found either singing at the top of his lungs with his Karaoke squad somewhere in the city, or finding/on the way to restaurants serving spicy dishes. He hasn’t found one too spicy for him in Philly, yet.
