Daniel is a Senior GIS Analyst and Cicero Data Manager at Azavea.
Daniel obtained his Master’s degree in Urban Spatial Analytics from the University of Pennsylvania, after graduating from Harrisburg University with a B.S. in Geographic Information Systems. So, it’s safe to say, Daniel has devoted his higher education career to GIS. For graduate research, he looked into demographic and economic changes near public transit stations in the Philadelphia area.
Before finding his calling to work for Azavea, Daniel was a GIS intern at the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission focusing on region-wide GIS projects. Especially interested in transportation planning, Daniel contributed to as many transit related tasks as possible and participated in the DVRPC’s Regional Student Forum.
Passionate about all things urban, especially Philadelphia, you’ll often hear Daniel boast about the city’s remarkable strengths and great potential. Always thinking spatially, he believes just about any problem can be solved with GIS – that is, except where to find his keys. In his free time you can find him biking the Schuylkill River Trail, exploring the city’s up-and-coming neighborhoods, or absorbing city life at Rittenhouse Square.
